Where is the Palm Suites located?
We are conveniently located just over the Atlantic Beach bridge! Follow Highway 58 into Atlantic Beach – Once you have crossed over the bridge, you will turn right at the first stop light onto Fort Macon Road. Palm Suites will be approximately 1 mile on your right! If you’ve reached Food Lion, you’ve gone too far!
Is the Palm Suites a hotel?
Essentially, yes. However, we offer more accommodating rooms than your standard hotel. All rooms have kitchenettes with a microwave, mini-fridge, coffee maker, and your basic dinnerware (cups, plates, utensils).
Is there a minimum age requirement to rent a room?
Yes, you must be 21 to rent and occupy a room at the Palm Suites. Photo ID and a valid credit card in your name are also required. Yes, someone of 21 years or older must rent and be on the premises at all times.
Sounds great! Do I have a choice of bed size?
Yes! But it does depend on what room type you choose. Take a look at our website at (www.palmsuites.com/amenities) for a full description and pictures of each room type.
I have to work while I’m at the beach … Do you have internet service?
Of course! We have FREE WiFi available throughout the hotel!
What about my dog? I can’t leave Fido at home …
Aww! As much as we love dogs, the Palm Suites has a NO PET policy. But there are local kennels and veterinary clinics that will board your dog while you are here!
Do you have a pool?
We have an outdoor pool on the soundfront of the hotel that is open seasonally from 9AM-10PM. The pool is typically open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. It is very convenient to the dock and the boat slips, and features umbrella tables and lounge chairs! Remember to bring your own beach and pool towels!
What other amenities do you have on-site?
Along with FREE WiFi throughout the hotel, there is also a coin-operated washer and dryer, private boat ramp, sound front dock and gazebo with grills, and private boat slips for rent.
How do I reserve a boat slip?
When you call to make your reservation, mention that you want to reserve a boat slip during your stay. They are available on a nightly or weekly basis and are first come, first serve. All of our hotel guests have access to the private boat ramp at no additional charge. Should you bring your boat along, please be sure to park the trailer and your vehicle in individual spaces.
Can I book just a Friday night?
We do have minimum stay requirements – 2 night minimum on weekends (Friday or Saturday nights) from Memorial Day to Labor Day and a 3 night minimum stay over all major holidays. Mid-week and off-season allow single night bookings!
How do I make a reservation?

What do I pay when I book? What happens if I cancel my reservation?
Due to high demand, we do require the first nights rent to be paid as your non-refundable deposit at the time of booking. If you should find that you have to cancel, please let us know. If you are canceling more than 48 hours from your check-in time, you will be charged the first nights rent but will not be charged for any additional reserved nights. If you are canceling less than 48 hours from your check-in time or you do not show up for your reservation, your payment is completely non-refundable.
How do I check in?
That’s the most exciting part, right? Just stop by the hotel after 4pm and we will get you checked in! We know you’re happy to arrive, but please don’t park in the parking lot until you’ve visited the front desk to receive your parking pass and have it displayed in your vehicle.
What if I need something after “normal business hours”? Does the hotel close?
Not during our peak season months (Memorial Day-Labor Day). Our lobby has personnel on staff 24 hours a day – so just call the front desk, or stop in the lobby, for your convenience.
So I’ve heard about hurricanes on the coast. What happens if a hurricane comes?
Well, town officials will keep an eye on the circumstances. If they decide to issue a MANDATORY evacuation, (you MUST leave) you will receive a full refund for the days remaining in your stay. If they issue a VOLUNTARY evacuation, and you decide to leave, you can have a credit for a future stay for the remaining days in your stay, but you must use the credit within the next 90 days.
How do I check out?
If you absolutely have to leave this island paradise, just drop by our lobby by 11:00am and turn in your KEY CARD. If you decide that you want to stay later, or wish to extend your stay just ask our front desk attendant. They will be happy to help you!
Is there a designated smoking area since you are a smoke-free hotel?
Yes! Although smoking is prohibited in rooms, balconies and in communal areas, you are able to smoke at the picnic tables by our pier. Evidence of smoking in rooms and on balconies will result in a $250 fine.
Is breakfast included?
Unfortunately, we do not have breakfast on site, but we do have a 2 hour coffee bar and vending machines. We are located within a 1 mile radius of several breakfast places for you to enjoy.
Do we have to bring our own linens?
Nope! Linens and towels are provided in all of our suites!
Since the Palm Suites is located on the soundfront, where is the closest beach access?
You may access the beach by crossing the street and walking and/or driving 3 blocks down Durham Street.
Do you have an elevator?
There isn’t an elevator on the property so if you have trouble with stairs, please let your vacation planner know at the time of booking.
Do I need a fishing license to fish off of the Palm Suites pier?
Yes! North Carolina law requires a saltwater fishing license. You can pick one up at Freeman’s Bait & Tackle less than 1 mile from the hotel. Children 16 and younger do not need a fishing license.
